Venod Sharma Fighting for Education and Rural Development in Haryana

The soul of India lives in its villages said Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhiji always believed the spirit and the soul of India rested in the village communities. He said, "The true India is to be found not in its few cities, but in its seven hundred thousand villages. If the villages perish, India will perish too."

Unfortunately Gandhi’s vision has never found true echo among the Political class of India. The ideas of Mahatma Gandhi never got implemented and very few political leaders and politicians cared for Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of developing the rural areas and villages.

Venod sharma is one political leader who is a true Gandhian in his words and action. A strong advocate of rural development, Venod Sharma has always maintained that until and unless the villages of Haryana are developed, the state will not grow. Venod Sharma has often reiterated the need for developing rural industries which can use the raw material produced in the villages so that villages should also walk on the path of prosperity.

Venod Sharma also emphasizes the need for proper connectivity of the villages with cities so that it remains connected with cities .Connectivity, according to Venod Sharma is the most important factor needed for a village to grow. This can only happen when the government constructs all weather roads to connect all the villages.

There is an urgent need to raise the level of education in rural Haryana. Once the education level is at par with the kind of education granted in the urban areas, then only the boys and girl from rural areas will be able to compete with the students of the cities. For this the government needs to frame those policies which can help in raising the literacy level of rural Haryana so that they are not left behind.
